Reviews
We are not going to make up testimonials
This page is built for verified reviews from people who have actually used the service. Until we have them, it would be dishonest to fill the space with invented quotes — so instead, here is how to check a contractor properly yourself.
Placeholder — awaiting verified reviews
When verified reviews are available they will appear here, attributed and marked as verified. If you have used this service and would like to leave feedback, mention it in a quote request or reply to any email we send you.
More useful than star ratings
How to vet an irrigation contractor
Since we pass your details to independent contractors, the checks that actually protect you are the ones you make directly. Reputable contractors expect every one of these questions.
Business licence
Ask for their municipal business licence number for the community they are working in. Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland each license separately.
Liability insurance
Ask for a certificate of insurance, not a verbal assurance. Check the coverage amount and that the policy is current — irrigation work involves excavation near utilities.
WorkSafeBC coverage
If the contractor has employees, ask for a WorkSafeBC clearance letter. Without it you can carry liability for injuries on your property.
Backflow certification
For backflow testing specifically, the tester must hold current certification. Ask to see it — certification lapses, and an expired ticket means the test will not be accepted.
Written scope and price
Get the scope in writing before work starts, itemising what is included. This is what makes quotes genuinely comparable rather than just cheaper or dearer.
Local references
Ask for references from work in your area and on similar terrain. A contractor experienced on flat valley lots may not have done much on terraced hillside properties.
Questions
About reviews on this site
Why are there no reviews shown yet?
Because we do not have verified ones to publish, and inventing them is not an option. This page is built and ready for genuine reviews from people who have actually used the service. Publishing fabricated testimonials would be dishonest and would tell you nothing useful about the contractors you would be dealing with.
How can I check a contractor before hiring them?
Ask for their business licence and proof of liability insurance, and confirm WorkSafeBC coverage if they have employees. Ask for references from work in your area, and get the scope and price in writing before anything starts. For backflow testing specifically, confirm the tester holds current certification. Reputable contractors expect all of these questions.
Will you publish reviews of specific contractors?
Not at this stage. Reviewing individual contractors responsibly requires verifying that the reviewer actually had the work done, and we are not set up to do that yet. When we are, reviews will be clearly attributed and identified as verified.
